The Algarve Albufeira

Albufeira is located in the center of the Algarve, with approximately 40,000 inhabitants. It borders Silves to the west and northwest, Loulé to the northeast and east, and the wonderful and wide coast of the Atlantic to the south, and offers many beaches surrounded by stunning cliffs. The Mediterranean climate brings hot and dry summers and mild winters with minimal rainfall.

Tourism is the most important activity of Albufeira. A real economic expansion began in the 1960s with the rise of international tourism. Albufeira became one of the main tourist destinations in the Algarve. The city maintains a very interesting with historically cultural heritage and a typical atmosphere, with its whitewashed houses and picturesque streets, that invite you to walk and to discover the old town.

Geographically, the region has a coastline of 30km spread over 23 fine sandy beaches and crystal clear water. The zone one of the highest concentration of blue flags (European symbol of quality beaches) at a national level. For golf lovers, there are several courses that represent the best in Portugal, such as Salgados, Pine Cliffs or Balaia Golf Village. As for restaurants, you can enjoy the wonderful fresh fish and the extensive selection throughout the city and the nightlife is one of the most exciting in the Algarve. Albufeira also has a marina, theme parks, and commercial areas, that suit all tastes for those enjoying this beautiful city!
